Aloo Tehri / Tihari ( Potato Pulao _ Potato Rice )




A family favourite rice dish which is fragranced with turmeric, vibrant yellow color make it eye-catching  and tasted undefinably delicious. 



Recipe:
Ingredients 
Rice soaked 4 cups 
Potatoes half kg round,thick, sliced 
Oil half cup 
Onion sliced 1 large
Cinnamon stick 1 inch piece 
Cloves 4 
Bay leaves 2 
Big,black cardamom 1 
Whole black pepper 10 
Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp 
Salt to taste 
Red chilli flakes 2 tbsp 
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp 
Cumin seeds 1 tbsp
Green chillies slices or hole 3 to 5
Water depends on the quality of ur rice (when u add rice, water should be 1 inch up from ur rice......or use 1.25 cup of water for every 1 cup of rice)
Cooking method 
Heat oil and saute onion add cinnamon stick, whole black pepper, cloves, big cardamom,bay leaves,cumin seeds,ginger garlic paste cook for a minute then add potatoes,Turmeric powder, salt,red chili flakes and cook until it leaves oil ,then add water and green chilies let it boil add rice cover,cook,when water remains very little leave it on dum (on slow flame) for 5 minutes,once done fluff them up and enjoy with kachoomar raita😉
